St. John's University to Host Annual Relay for Life Event, April 8th

St. John’s University will host the American Cancer Society’s College Relay for Life on April 8th in Carnesseca Arena. Students, faculty, administrators and staff will participate in the all-night walkathon to help raise money for the fight against cancer.

Luminarias (glowing memorials) can be purchased in honor of loved ones and friends who have experienced cancer. The luminarias will be placed around the walls of Carnesecca Arena. Contributions made will save lives, help those touched by cancer and empower people to fight back.

The opening ceremony begins at 6:45 p.m. and will be followed by the Luminaria Ceremony and Survivor Walk at 7 p.m. The event will continue through the night, concluding at 6 a.m. on Saturday morning.
