The School of Risk Management hosts fall Career Fair

November 21, 2011

The School of Risk Management, Insurance & Actuarial Science (SRM) hosted its fall Career Fair on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 with thirty-four national and international employers participating, offering internships and full-time jobs in the insurance industry.  Companies recruiting seniors for entry-level positions were offering rotation training programs and international travel.

Employers collected resumes from SRM sophomores, juniors and seniors for a vast array of paid summer and academic-year internships.  One lucky, soon-to-be graduate is getting flown to a company’s headquarters in Florida for the first round of hiring interviews. SRM students are highly sought after by employers.

SRM’s placement rate for the May, 2011 graduating class is over 95% with salaries averaging $53,000.  The SRM, including classrooms, academic and administrative offices, as well as its own Center for Career Services, is located on the downtown Manhattan campus where students pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees in Actuarial Science, Risk Management and Insurance.
