For alumni members of the St. John’s University family, staying
in touch just got a lot quicker and easier.
St.
John’s recently launched the St. John’s University Alumni
Online Community, a new and exciting initiative designed to
help alumni stay connected to each other and the University.
“St. John’s alumni have always had strong personal and
professional attachments to each other,” noted Victor Ramos ’91CBA,
’93MBA, Associate Vice President, Institutional Advancement. “By
participating in this online community, they’ll be able to expand
their contacts and have the opportunity to get in touch with
friends they might not have seen or spoken to in years. They’ll
also be able to get quick and easy information about what’s
happening at the University, which makes getting involved a win-win
situation for everyone.”
The new online community, which is free and only available to
St. John’s alumni, has been designed to provide members with easy
access to a number of special features grouped onto a single site.
In addition to staying in touch with former friends and classmates,
participants will be able to forward an Alumnote to share
information about major events in their life, such as a marriage,
birth, new job, promotion or anything else that they feel would be
of interest to their fellow graduates.
Each
member’s name, graduation years and schools, the city and state
where they live and their current employer and job title will be
visible to other members. That’s the basic information, but to
really take advantage of what the site has to offer, members can
include information about their hobbies, likes and dislikes, group
memberships and family information. The more complete a member’s
profile becomes, the easier and more efficient it will be to
contact and network with other alumni who have similar
interests.
The online community will also provide members with the most
effective way to register for
University events and will offer a secure way to support St.
John’s by
making an online gift.
The site is password protected, ensuring that all members’
accounts will remain secure and private.
There’s something here for everyone, so if you haven’t already
done so and would like to become a member, simply click here and follow the
instructions for new users. Please note that your requested
University Identification Number (X number) appears as a part of
all e-mails sent from St. John’s and is also located above your
name and address on any mail that you receive from the
University.
