Wireless Connection to Lab Printers

Setting up the lab printers on Windows XP

  • Click on start and run and in the command box type in: \\149.68.74.209 (this is the address of the print server).
  • You will then be prompted for your Active Directory username and password. Be sure to include the domain name d_qmst_01 and a '\' before your login name. For instance, John Smith would log on as: d_qmst_01\jsmit789. The password is initially Sj + your storm card ID number.
  • Once connected to the print server, you will see a list of various printers that are in student organizations and the computer lab. For printers in the lab, click on the printer named pqlawun.
  • Click on OK when prompted to install drivers from the server.

Setting up the lab printers on Windows Vista

  • Click on Start ( Windows logo) and type \\149.68.74.209 in the search box
  • Enter your username and password when prompted in this format: d_qmst_01\username (see above for details)
  • Click on PQLAWUN 
  • When prompted allow the drivers to be installed from the print server.

Setting up the lab printers on MAC OS

  • Click on the Apple icon and then Systen Preferences;
  • Click on Printer & Fax
  • Click on the plus sign to add a printer
  • Click on IP
  • In the IP address box type 149.68.74.209 (Leave the Protocol at Line Printer)
  • Type in PQLAWUN for the Queue.
  • Click on the drop down box next to print using and select HP and then LaserJet 9050
  • After the lab printers are set up on your laptop you will be able to print via any application on your computer.
