Setting up the lab printers on Windows
XP
- Click on start and run and in the command box type in: \\149.68.74.209 (this is the
address of the print server).
- You will then be prompted for your Active Directory username
and password. Be sure to include the domain name d_qmst_01 and a
'\' before your login name. For instance, John Smith would log on
as: d_qmst_01\jsmit789. The password is your 9 digit storm card ID
number.
- Once connected to the print server, you will see a list of
various printers that are in student organizations and the computer
lab. For printers in the lab, click on the printer named
pqlawun.
- Click on OK when prompted to install drivers from the
server.
Setting up the lab printers on Windows
Vista
- Click on Start ( Windows logo) and type \\149.68.74.209 in the
search box
- Enter your username and password when prompted in this format:
d_qmst_01\username
- Click on start (Windows logo) and control panel and then
Printers
- Click on Add a printer and Select Add a Local Printer and
Select Create a new port
- Click on next and when prompted for enter a port name type in:
\\149.68.74.209\\pqlawun
- You will then select HP and scroll down to LaserJet 9050
Setting up the lab printers on
MAC
Before you can setup the network printers on your MAC you will need
to install the
HP 9050 printer drivers for MAC OSX.
Once you have installed the drivers you can actually add the lab
printer by doing the following steps:
- Click on the apple icon and go to system preferences and click
on the printer icon
- Click on the plus sign to add a printer
- In the IP address box type 149.68.74.209
- Type in PQLAWUN for the Queue.
- Click on the drop down box next to print using and select HP
and then LaserJet 9050
- After the lab printers are set up on your laptop you will be
able to print via any application on your computer.
