Each year, members of the Moot Court Honor Society at St. John's
Law School compete in several prestigious external competitions in
the New York and throughout the United States. The competition
year is divided into two seasons, fall and spring. During the
fall, we typically send teams to the:
- Burton D. Wechsler First Amendment Moot Court Competition
- Chicago Bar Association Moot Court Competition
- Mercer University School of Law Legal Ethics and
Professionalism Moot Court Competition
- National Moot Court Competition
- Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition
Only third-year Moot Court members compete in external
competitions during the fall, the one exception being the Jessup
Competition. For Jessup, we typically send two teams made up
of second-year and third-year members.
In the spring, following their completion of the Appellate
Advocacy course, second-year members are eligible to compete in
external competitions. In past years, we have sent teams to
the:
- National Appellate Advocacy Competition
- Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court Competition
- John J. Gibbons National Criminal Procedure Moot Court
Competition
- Irving R. Kaufman Memorial Securities Law Moot Court
Competition
