The Moot Court Honor Society is the Law School’s only
co-curricular appellate advocacy honors program. Our
members sharpen their written and oral advocacy skills, argue
cutting-edge legal issues and compete in a range of
internal and
external competitions. Students participating in the Moot Court
Honor Society regularly engage with legal profession
leaders, including celebrated St. John's alumni and state and
federal judges. They also build relationships with future
colleagues and mentors.
We are proud of our accomplishments. In the last year alone,
Moot Court Honor Society members:
- Won Fordham Law School’s Irving R. Kaufman Memorial Securities
Law Moot Court Competition and received the award for best oralist
in the competition
- Advanced to the national round of the National Moot Court
Competition
- Went to the quarterfinal rounds of the Gabrielli National
Family Law Moot Court Competition, the Wechsler Moot Court
Competition, and the John J. Gibbons National Criminal Procedure
Moot Court Competition
- Had a strong showing in the Jessup International Moot Court
Competition in only our second year fielding a team.
Students in the Moot Court Honor Society have also won top
