The N.Y. Litigator Law Journal is the journal of the
Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State
Bar Association (NYSBA). In 1995, St. John's School of Law was
chosen to be the home of the student editorial board of the N.Y.
Litigator. Since the journal’s establishment as a student-run
publication, the editorial board has committed itself to providing
readers with cutting-edge, practice-oriented pieces written by
scholars, professors, judges and practitioners in the commercial
and federal litigation fields.
Published three to four issues annually, the N.Y. Litigator
encompasses articles on topics at the forefront of legal
development and discussion, including:
- Corporate Liability
- Alternative Dispute Resolution
- Due Process
- White Collar Crime
- Bankruptcy Litigation
- International Litigation
- Public Interest
- Securities Arbitration
As a student-run publication, staff members gain valuable
experience in developing advanced legal writing, research and
analytical skills. Membership on the N.Y. Litigator is offered to
students who have successfully completed the Law School’s annual
writing competition and received a competitive score on the blue
book exam.
St. John’s law students staffing the journal have an excellent
opportunity to research, write and publish articles and reviews of
recent decisions. The journal showcases selected staff member
submissions along with pieces written by scholars and practitioners
in the field, distributing them to a readership of over 5,000
members of our distinguished section of the NYSBA.
