Francis J. Facciolo is a Professor of Legal Writing at St.
John’s University School of Law. Professor Facciolo formerly
clerked for Justice Sidney M. Schreiber of the New Jersey Supreme
Court. He practiced for ten years as a transactional corporate
attorney in several major New York City law firms before becoming a
law professor. Professor Facciolo has published in the areas of
payment systems, the Uniform Commercial Code (specifically Articles
1 and 8), secured lending, and securities law (with a specialty in
the law of broker-dealers, investment companies and investment
advisers). He teaches Sales and Payment Systems and Federal
Regulation of Mutual Funds at New York Law School; and Legal
Research and Writing and Regulation of Investment Companies and
Investment Advisers at St. John's University School of Law. He
developed and taught a course for several years on the regulation
of securities markets and broker-dealers at Hofstra School of
Law.
Professor Facciolo received his B.A. from Columbia University;
M.A. from Hunter College; M.Ph. from the Graduate Center of the
City University of New York; and J.D. from Columbia University. He
was admitted to the New York State bar in 1984.
