Arthur B. Laby is Professor of Law at Rutgers University and
formerly Assistant General Counsel of the U.S. Securities and
Exchange Commission in Washington, DC. Professor Laby teaches
securities regulation, business organizations, and investment
management regulation. His research focuses on the regulation of
investment advisers and broker-dealers, conflicts of interest, and
the fiduciary relationship. Professor Laby is a frequent speaker in
the United States and abroad and has published numerous articles
and book chapters in scholarly and practitioner-oriented journals.
Professor Laby is a member of the American Law Institute and serves
on the Board of Advisors and the Museum Committee of the SEC
Historical Society.
