Women's Law Society

The Women’s Law Society was created to provide a forum for the St. John’s Law community to explore and discuss issues involving women and the law. The organization welcomes and encourages participation from all members of the law school, including students, faculty, staff and alumni.

The primary goal of the Women’s Law Society is to foster awareness of the importance of equal opportunity and treatment in the professional arena. It attempts to achieve this goal through meetings, lectures, professional development seminars, and networking opportunities.

The Society is also dedicated to addressing the community’s needs and issues and believes in combining efforts with those of the Student Bar Association, as well as other student organizations, alumni, and charity groups.

The Women’s Law Society gives its members an opportunity to share their interests, develop their job skills, and expand their under- standing of how the law affects women and how women affect the law.

2007-2008 President: Jennifer Ismat
