Justinian (Italian-American) Law Society (JSL)

The Justinian Law Society represents students either having Italian heritage or an interest in Italian culture and values. Activities are designed to achieve the educational, cultural, professional, charitable and social well being of members and the entire law school community. It seeks to promote the history and accomplishments of great Italians and Italian-Americans. The Society sponsors informative and entertaining speakers, fundraisers and social gatherings. It also organizes participation in regional and national organizations that provide members with valuable networking opportunities. Activities have included a sports memorabilia auction that raised over $6,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Additionally, the Justinians select an Italian-American who has made a significant contribution to the legal profession and Italian culture and community. The individual is honored at the annual alumni dinner and presented with the Vacarius Award named after the celebrated Roman jurist.
