Latin American Law Students Association (LALSA)

The Latin American Law Students Association was established to promote increased awareness of current issues, legislation and court decisions affecting the growing Latino/a communities in the United States. Its attention is also geared toward disseminating valuable information from regional and national organizations, such as the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA); the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund (PRLDEF); and the Puerto Rican Bar Association (PRBA). These organizations provide a valuable support network for Latino/a law students, which may lead to mentors, summer positions, scholarships and post-graduation employment. The Association presents informative panel discussions in a variety of legal fields, provides networking opportunities, and most importantly provides a support system, which can lead to a successful career in law school as well as in the legal profession.
