Professor Todres is a member of Order of the Coif, Beta Alpha
Psi, and a past vice-president of Beta Gamma Sigma. Prior to
joining the law faculty, Professor Todres practiced law in New York
City with major law firms and was Assistant Tax Counsel with a
national banking institution. He also spent two years as an
Instructor of Law at New York University School of Law. He
co-authored (with Professor Davidian) Reducing Personal Income
Taxes: A Guide to Deductions and Credits.
Professor Todres is a member of the New York State Bar
Association and its Section of Taxation and several of its
committees. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and
its Section of Taxation and the Committees on Banking and Savings
Institutions and Teaching Taxation. As an ABA member, he was
actively involved in the Task Force drafting proposed federal
legislation on state taxation of banks whose recommendation was
subsequently adopted as the official position of the
