Margaret N. Kniffin

Professor Kniffin was the recipient of the Faculty Outstanding Achievement Award in 1990. She is a member of Mensa International, the American Bar Association and the Committee on Legal Education and Admission to the Bar. She is an elected member of the American Law Institute where she serves on the Members Consultative Committees for U.C.C. Article 2 and for the Restatement (Third) of Restitution.

Prior to joining the law faculty, she practiced with a major New York City firm. Professor Kniffin founded, with Professor E. Allan Farnsworth of Columbia Law School, the Contracts Colloquium. She was a visiting professor at Fordham Law School during the 1987-1988 year. Professor Kniffin is a former Hearing Officer of the U.S. Equal Opportunity Commission and a founder and member of the Board of Directors of the Philippine-American Community Aid Program. She re-wrote and updated Volume 5, Interpretation, of the Revised Edition of Corbin on Contracts, published in 1998. She teaches Contracts, Remedies, and The Legal Process.
