Gina M. Calabrese

Associate Director, Elder Law Clinic and Assistant Professor for Clinical Education B.A., Columbia University; J.D., Fordham University.

Professor Calabrese joined the St. John's faculty in 2001, teaching the Elder Law Clinic with Professor Ann Goldweber. A former adjunct professor in the Clinic, she returned to St. John's after having taught in the Hofstra Law School Housing Rights Clinic. She also served as a Clinical Instructor in Brooklyn Law School's Elder Law Clinic.

Prior to clinical teaching, Professor Calabrese headed the Litigation Department of the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights, a California consumer advocacy group. During her five years at the Foundation (1994-1999), she won significant courtroom, regulatory, and legislative victories for consumers in the area of fair insurance rates and practices.

After graduation from law school, she was an associate with the Los Angeles law firm of Adams, Duque & Hazeltine. In addition to representing the firm's corporate clients, she represented children in a number of pro bono matters. She has lectured and published in the areas of child advocacy, professionalism and judgment enforcement.
