Recipient of 2005 Faculty Outstanding Achievement award from the
President of St. John’s University.
Prof. Boyle has been teaching Legal Research and Writing to
first-year students since 1994. She additionally teaches
Legal Writing Seminar to upper-level students, covering contract
drafting and litigation documents, and Contracts to Summer
Institute students.
Her articles, essays, and book chapters appear in both legal and
other academic publications. Recently, her co-written article
on the learning styles of law faculty and students was published in
the June 2006 issue of the Journal of Legal Education.
Prof. Boyle presents regularly at national and international
conferences on topics concerning legal writing, academic support,
and learning styles. At the 2008 Association of American Law School
annual meeting, she moderated the panel for the Section on Academic
Support and presented on the panel for the Section on Teaching
Methods.
She currently serves in the following capacities:
- AALS Section on Academic Support, Board Member;
- AALS Section on Academic Support, Co-chair for the Program
Committee (January 2009 annual meeting);
- The Journal of the Legal Writing Institute, Member of
Editorial Board (July 2008-July 2012);
- Legal Writing Institute, Member of Board of Directors (July
2008-July 2012);
- Legal Writing Institute, Scholarship Outreach Committee, Chair
(2006-2008);
- SSRN, Legal Writing Journal, Advisory Board Member (Since
2008).
Prof. Boyle serves as a liaison between the law school and the
Bronx School of Law, Government and Justice. Annually since
1997, she has organized and moderated a Law School Admissions
Council program as part of National Minority Recruitment Month.
