Robin Boyle, St. John’s University School of Law, Queens, NY:
Professor of Legal Writing; Director of Academic Support Program; Assistant Director of the Writing Center. B.A., Vassar College, 1980; J.D., Fordham University School of Law, 1989.
Recipient of 2005 Faculty Outstanding Achievement award from the President of St. John’s University.
Prof. Boyle has been teaching Legal Analysis, Writing & Research to first-year students since 1994. She additionally teaches Legal Writing Seminar to upper-level students, covering contract drafting and litigation documents, and Contracts to Summer Institute students.
Her articles, essays, and book chapters appear in both legal and other academic publications. Recently, her co-written article on the learning styles of law faculty and students was published in the June 2006 issue of the Journal of Legal Education.
Prof. Boyle presents regularly at national and international conferences on topics concerning legal writing, academic support, and learning styles. At the 2010 Association of American Law School annual meeting, she moderated a panel for the Section on Academic Support.
Prof. Boyle serves as a liaison between the law school and the Bronx School of Law, Government and Justice, an Urban Assembly school.
