The Ronald H. Brown Center for Civil Rights and Economic
Development is proud to sponsor the 2008 Northeast People of Color
Legal Scholarship Conference from September 12-14, 2008. This is an
annual gathering of law faculty from across the nation to discuss
issues and topics of concern to communities of color.
This year our theme is Education & the
Economy: The Real Lives of People of Color. Four members of
the law faculty here at St. John’s are participating: Elaine M.

Salomone, Cheryl
Wade and finally, Leonard
Baynes who will be receiving the prestigious Haywood
Burns-Shanara Gilbert Award.
