The Ronald H. Brown Center Presents a Conference on The LSAT, U.S. News & World Report, and Minority Admissions

September 07, 2005

The Ronald H. Brown Center will hold a one-day regional conference entitled: "The LSAT, U.S. News & World Reports, and Minority Admissions.” The goal of the conference is to establish a dialogue concerning how law schools inappropriately use the LSAT as the sole criterion in admissions decisions in order to boost their U.S. News & World Report rankings. This misuse is in contravention of the express guidance of the Law School Admission Council.  Moreover, this over-reliance has a deleterious effect on the admission of students of color to law school. The conference discussions will revolve around strategies to increase minority admissions in this ranking-frenzied atmosphere.
