TRIAL
ADVOCACY – CONCENTRATED CIVIL
(Limit 36)
The Trial Advocacy – Concentrated Civil course in the spring 2009
semester will be taught in a condensed time frame, within seven
weeks of the semester (beginning the week of January 26 and ending
with the final trial on March 22). For those seven weeks,
there will be a one-hour lecture each week (Tuesday:
5:00-6:00 p.m.*) attended by all the students enrolled in the
class, and each small breakout session will meet twice a week for
two and one-half hours (either Monday/Wednesday 6:30-9:00 p.m. or
Tuesday/Thursday 6:30-9:00 p.m.). This configuration will
place the emphasis on the skills-practice time and allow the
professors to better evaluate each student’s skills mastery.
If you register yourself for this first-come-first-served course,
you will also be registered for one of the 4 breakout sessions
(ALSK 4080) which have a limit of 10 each.
Please note that the first lecture will take place on Tuesday,
January 27, and the first breakout sessions will be held on
Tuesday, January 27 and Wednesday, January 28.
N.B. Students may take both Civil and Criminal Trial Advocacy,
but may not take either more than once (including Intensive or
Concentrated courses but excluding any Advanced Trial Advocacy
courses which may be offered). Please see the Student
Handbook or the Web for course
descriptions.
