Registration Instructions

  1. Go to http://www.stjohns.edu/central
  2. Enter your user name and password and click login.  Your user name is your St. John’s email ID and your password is your UIS pin/password.  The first time you access UIS, your PIN is your date of birth (MMDDYY); however, you must change this to a confidential 6-digit PIN.  To change your PIN once you have accessed UIS, click on Personal Information and then Change PIN option.  Follow the instructions for changing your PIN.
  3. Click on the UIS/TAB
  4. In the UIS Main Menu box, click on Click Here to Access.
  5. To register for classes once you have accessed the University Information System, click on Student.
  6. Click on Registration and then Add/Drop Classes.
  7. Select the term for which you are registering and submit.
  8. Enter your 6-digit Priority Registration Number and submit.
  9. Follow the instructions for adding or dropping classes.

If you encounter error messages or if you need assistance in using the system, call the Law School Web Assistance Line (718) 990-2010, which is generally available from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; and from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays.

How to Join a Waitlist

  1. When registering for a section, if a section is full and the waitlist option is available, the registration status will be listed as "Closed-Waitlisted."
  2. Select the "Waitlist" option and click "Submit Changes."
  3. If you receive an e-mail notifying you that a seat has become available, follow the instructions on the e–mail within 24 hours to register officially for the class.  If you don't take any action, you'll lose your spot on the waitlist and the seat will go, instead, to the next person in line.

As with all courses, be sure that you have met the course's prerequisites before you register.  You'll be able to check your position on the waitlist by going to "Detail Schedule" in UIS.

The waitlist option will be turned off on January 2nd.

If you have questions, please contact the Registrar's Office at 718-990-6600.
