In addition to the entering scholarships available to Law School
students, students may become eligible for scholarship assistance
or need-based grants after completing the first year.
Dean’s Scholarship
The Dean’s Scholarship is awarded annually to the student who
attains the highest cumulative grade point average after completion
of each academic year in the day and evening divisions. The award
is for the upcoming academic year only.
The annual awards are as follows:
Day Students: $15,000.
Evening Students: $10,000.
Academic Achievement
Scholarships
Day and evening students are eligible to apply for scholarship
assistance at the conclusion of each academic year provided that
the student’s cumulative grade point average, including Spring
semester grades, meets the minimum requirements established by the
Scholarship Committee.
Service to the Law School through participation in student
organizations is considered in the awarding of these scholarships
to day students entering the third year and evening students
entering the third or fourth year. Applications
are made available at the conclusion of each spring semester.
Decisions are made during the summer and applicants are notified by
mail.
Note: All upper-division scholarship awards, including Dean’s
Scholarship awards, are awarded in lieu of, and not in addition to,
scholarship awards made upon admission to the Law School.

Need-Based Grants
Day and evening students are eligible to apply for a needbased
grant if the student can demonstrate that unmet financial need
exists after exhausting all possible sources of financial
assistance. The maximum dollar amount of the grant is the
difference between financial aid available to the student (e.g.,
Federal Stafford Loans, private loans, institutional and external
scholarship awards) and financial need.
