Professor Broude is a sole practitioner in New York City. He holds
a J.D. degree with honors from the University of Chicago where he
was a member of the Board of Editors of the UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO
LAW REVIEW. He served as a full time Professor of Law at Nebraska
University Law School and at Georgetown University Law Center and
was an Adjunct Professor of Law at Loyola University (Los Angeles)
and the University of Southern California Law School before moving
to New York. He has been teaching in the LL.M. program since its
inception.
He has written extensively in the fields of bankruptcy and
insolvency law. Professor Broude’s publications include
REORGANIZATIONS UNDER CHAPTER 11 OF THE BANKRUPTCY CODE published
by Law Journal-Seminars Press in 1986 and updated semi-annually. He
is a member of the board of editors of and a contributing author to
COLLIER ON BANKRUPTCY, as well as being a Co-Editor of and
contributing author to COLLIER’S INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS INSOLVENCY
GUIDE, both published by Matthew Bender & Co.
Professor Broude is a member of the American Law Institute, where
he served as an Advisor for the Transnational Insolvency Project; a
member of the National Bankruptcy Conference, where he served as
Chair, Committee on International Aspects; and a Fellow of the
American College of Bankruptcy. He is a member of the International
Bar Association having served as co-chair of its Section on
Insolvency, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights. He has spoken
throughout the world on bankruptcy, secured transactions and
transnational insolvency.
Professor Broude has taught Mass Tort Bankruptcy,
Multi-National Mega-Case Bankruptcy with Prof. Klauser in the
2010-2011 academic year and New Developments in Business
Bankruptcy.
