The highly successful LL.M. in Bankruptcy program at St. John's
School of Law offers more than two dozen specialized
bankruptcy courses taught by leading
practitioners, judges and academics. Our graduates practice
with top firms and clerk for influential judges throughout the
country.
The Law School's extensive bankruptcy offerings include the
Center for Bankruptcy Studies as well as the American
Bankruptcy Institute Law Review, the nation’ premier bankruptcy
journal with a circulation of approximately 11,000. We are also
home to the student-led Bankruptcy
Law Society and the St. John’s Institute for Bankruptcy
Policy.
Each year, together with the American Bankruptcy Institute, the
Law School sponsors the Hon.
Conrad B. Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition. This
major student competition brings more than 50 teams to New York
from law schools throughout the country to argue important current
issues in bankruptcy law. The event culminates in a banquet
attended by nearly 1000 leading practitioners, academics, prominent
judges and students.
