The GSA is Proud to Present:

Generation Ground Zero: Growing Up in a Post-9/11 America

Hosted by Syed S. Uddin-Ahmed

Date: November 18, 2011

Time: 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM

Location: Bent Hall 101A

Join us November 18th for a special event on growing up in America Post 9/11.  We will view Sharukh Khan's "My Name Is Khan," an award winning film about an inter-faith couple dealing with an ever changing American society after the tragic events of 9/11.  This will lead to a productive discussion on issues of race, identity, assimilation, and living in an environment that has become hostile to people of minority backgrounds.  As we live in an increasingly polarizing society, the event is an opportunity for serious cultural and intellectual exchange.  In the spirit of humanity, compassion, and harmony, this is our humble attempt to do what M.K Gandhi stated, to "Be the change you want to see." All are cordially invited to attend; please feel free to bring friends! Food will be served.
