The St. John's Debate Wins Huber Tournament Second Year in a Row 12:00 AM The St. John’s University Debate Society won the Robert Huber Debate Tournament hosted by the University of Vermont for the second year in a row this past weekend, besting a field of over 80 teams representing some of the best debaters from around the world.

St. John’s Mock Trial Defeats Harvard to Finish Second in Tournament 12:00 AM St. John’s University’s acclaimed Mock Trial Team defeated Harvard University in the fourth and final trial of the sixth annual Brandeis University Invitational Mock Trial Tournament last weekend. Twenty-eight teams from 15 of the most highly regarded colleges and universities throughout the country were invited by Brandeis to this prestigious pre-season preparation for the upcoming national tournament.

This past year, student aid programs have been cut by $30 billion. Graduate student loan benefits, LEAP state grants and year-round Pell were all eliminated due to budget pressures and efforts at deficit reduction.
