BIG EAST Tournament Most Outstanding Offensive Player Jack Bennett netted the golden goal, his fifth game-winner of the season, on a breakaway in the 97th minute as No. 21/21 St. John's defeated No. 4/3 Connecticut, 1-0, in overtime to win its conference-best ninth tournament crown.

The St. John’s University Debate Society won the Robert Huber Debate Tournament hosted by the University of Vermont for the second year in a row this past weekend, besting a field of over 80 teams representing some of the best debaters from around the world.

St. John’s Mock Trial Defeats Harvard to Finish Second in Tournament

St. John’s University’s acclaimed Mock Trial Team defeated Harvard University in the fourth and final trial of the sixth annual Brandeis University Invitational Mock Trial Tournament last weekend. Twenty-eight teams from 15 of the most highly regarded colleges and universities throughout the country were invited by Brandeis to this prestigious pre-season preparation for the upcoming national tournament.

Forty Years and Counting: Happy Birthday To Our Staten Island Campus

Many looked back in amazement at the realization that four decades had passed so quickly, and all were happy for the opportunity to reconnect with friends and reflect on where their lives had taken them since their student days.

Help Preserve Federal Student Aid Programs

St. John’s needs your help to protect federal aid for our students and their families. This past year, student aid programs have been cut by $30 billion. Graduate student loan benefits, LEAP state grants and year-round Pell were all eliminated due to budget pressures and efforts at deficit reduction.

This holiday season, St. John’s Bread and Life Soup Kitchen hopes to serve over 2,000 families and also bring warm winter gear to over 1,000 individuals through its annual “Sponsor-A-Family” program. The Sponsor-A-Family initiative delivers food, clothing and toy packages to families who would otherwise be unable to celebrate the holiday.
