James F. Gregory, Ed.D.
Associate Professor, Program Coordinator
Professor Gregory received his B.A. from LaSalle College, his M.ED. from the University of Pittsburgh and his Ed.D. from Harvard University. He teaches courses in special education curriculum and instruction and language/reading acquisition.

Deirdre K. Mithaug, Ph.D.
Associate Professor
Professor Mithaug received her B.A. from the University of Washington; her M.A., M.Phil and Ph.D. in Special Education from Teachers College at Columbia University. She teaches courses in introduction to special education, research and practicum.

Joanne Robertson, Ed.D.
Associate Professor
Professor Robertson received a B.S. from St. John’s University, an M.S. from Long Island University: C.W. Post and her Ed.D. from Hofstra University. She teaches courses in early literacy education, language acquisition and teaching literacy through literature.

Barbara Signer, Ph.D.
Professor
Professor Signer received her B.A. from Hunter College, her M.A. from the University of Michigan and her Ph.D. from the University of South Florida. She teaches courses
in mathematics education, instructional technology and Online Learning.

Nancy Montgomery, Ph.D.
Associate Professor
Professor Montgomery received her B.S. and M.S. from Indiana University and her Ph.D. from New York University. She teaches courses in English literacy education, writing, writing with computer and cooperative learning and arts education.

E. Fran Guastello, Ed.D
Associate Professor, Chair
Professor Guastello is an associate Professor of Literacy, specializing in the research and instruction of students with learning disabilities. She is also a specialist in multisensory language learning.

Sumita Guha, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
Professor Guha received her B.A. and M.A. from the University of Calcutta and her M.Ed. and Ph.D. from the State University of NY at Buffalo. She teaches courses in assessment for technology instruction.

Steven Rosenberg, P.D.
Director of Field Experiences
Professor Rosenberg received his B.S. in Economics, Math from State University of NY at Buffalo, his M.S. in Math Education from St. John’s University and an M.S. and P.D. in Educational Administration and Supervision from Pace University.

Paul Pedota, P.D.
Coordinator of Alternative Teacher Certification Programs
Professor Pedota received his B.A., M.S.E.D. in Secondary Education and P.D. in Educational Administration from St. John’s University. He teaches courses in Teaching and Learning on the secondary level and is responsible for administration and supervision of the Internship Program for students enrolled in the Career Change Program.
