    Course Description
    This course follows EDU 9719.  Participants will learn practical applications of ABA techniques and will develop behavior management plans to apply in simulated and actual settings.  (Field experience of 15 hours). (Q, D)

    Course Rationale
    The applied science of the behavior of the individual (applied behavior analysis or ABA) constitutes the basis of a science of individualized instruction.  The principles, strategies, and tactics of the science are central to: 1) effective pedagogy, 2) competent classroom management, and 3) sophisticated curriculum design/implementation.  The concepts, practices, and analytic strategies of the science provide the novice or experienced teacher with the means to provide those educational outcomes for students and the community that are necessary for the well being of the student and society.

  • EDU 9700 Collaborative Partnerships, Strategic Instruction, and Material Adaptations in Inclusive Settings (Graduate)
    Course Description
    This course shows students how to become informed consumers of qualitative and quantitative research methods as they apply to general, special, and inclusive education.  Research study will include examining techniques for promoting collaborative partnerships and strategic instruction in literacy and learning for general and special educators.  Models of collaboration, theoretical approaches to school-based collaboration, and roles of members of interdisciplinary teams will be examined.
