Profile

Regina Mistretta, Associate Professor and Program Coordinator in The School of Education, holds a B.S., M.S., and Ed.D. in Mathematics Education.  She strives to help forward the field through teaching, research, and service efforts that address the needs of students, teachers, administrators, and parents.  Her research focuses on pedagogical practices for teaching mathematics, parent-child collaborations in mathematics, and teacher preparation/professional development program models.

Federally and privately funded initiatives have allowed her to interact with over 35 Pre-K to 8 learning communities encompassing teachers, administrators, and multi-cultural school children and their families throughout the metropolitan area. Her most recent efforts involve the design and implementation of the Internship Placement Project on the Staten Island campus and her collaboration with the Curriculum Leadership Team of the Institute for Catholic Schools.
