St. John's Professor Judith Cramer to Speak at NY Press Club Foundation's Annual Journalism Conference

Professor Judith Cramer, Ph.D., Director of Mass Communication at St. John's University, will speak at the New York Press Club Foundation 15th Annual Journalism Conference on October 27 at New York University. 

Dr. Cramer will participate as a member of a panel that will discuss key topics facing educators in journalism, titled: “The journalism classroom: educators and change”.   Professors representing NYU, Baruch, and Wagner will join Dr. Cramer in conversations ranging from the methods in which educators prepare students for the ways in which news is gathered, processed and distributed in the 21st century to whether is better to learn journalism on the job or in the classroom.

Professor Cramer has over 10 years of experience as a professional journalist, specializing in commercial and public radio news.  She is the co-editor of Women in Mass Communication 3rd edition (Sage Publications, 2007).

Fox 5 (NY) News anchor Ernie Anastos will open the day’s events with a talk titled: “Does Anyone Even Need a News Anchor Anymore?” and author Pete Hamil will give the closing Keynote address on “The State of Journalism.”  Leaders in media, academia, and industry will share their thoughts on important topics in the Journalism world.
