Faculty members need to be certified to teach fully online distance learning and mixed mode courses at St. John’s University. Mixed mode courses are ones that substitute any online teaching for classroom-based teaching.
There are two ways to receive certification: Complete the Distance Learning Pedagogy I course, OR, receive approval from a faculty committee based on the Application for Certification to Teach Distance Learning Courses.
