This Self Assessment Questionnaire has no correct or incorrect answers. It is to your advantage to be honest with yourself as you respond, because it will help you evaluate whether or not you are likely to have a successful experience participating in an online course.
 

Computer Access and Ability
1. Do you have daily use of a computer with Microsoft Word and Internet access?
2. Are you comfortable using Microsoft Word and an Internet browser such as Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer?
3. Are you comfortable using email and email attachments?
4. Are you capable of reading and writing English at a college level?
Personal Predisposition
1. Are you comfortable with the idea of doing coursework outside of the traditional classroom without the daily/weekly face-to-face interaction between students and instructor?
2. Are you comfortable working independently without constant instructor supervision, but willing to seek online assistance when it is needed?
3. Are you comfortable communicating your viewpoints by sustaining an ongoing written dialogue?
4. Do you have the time (about 10 hours per week) and possess the self-discipline necessary to keep up with regular online class assignments?
5. Do you possess the time management skills necessary to balance your academic, professional and personal commitments?
6. Do you enjoy learning about using computer technology?

If you answered No to any of the four computer access and ability or the personal predisposition questions, then you should correct the situation before enrolling in an online course.
