Graduates and degree candidates who wish to participate in the
Commencement ceremony are required to wear the proper academic
attire and to march with the members of the faculty, officers of
administration, and honored guests in the academic procession.
Proper academic attire consists of a black cap, red gown plus
the appropriate hood that designates the degree being awarded.
Note
If for any reason you do not plan to order a cap and gown, please
notify the Rome Campus Student Service office in writing.
Ordering
Caps and gowns should be ordered between Monday, March 10 and
Friday, March 28, 2008. Please contact Laura D'Ambrosio before
March 28, 2008, to file a cap and gown order form.
Distribution
Caps and gowns will be distributed in the Rome Campus
Special Events Office on the following dates:
- Wednesday, July 9: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- Thursday, July 10: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- Friday, July 11: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
If you are unable to pick-up your academic attire at these
times, you must contact the Special Events office and make the
necessary arrangements.
Returns
All academic attire must be returned to the Special Events
office immediately following the Commencement reception on Sunday,
July 20, no later than 8:30 p.m.
Any student not returning his/her cap and gown will be
responsible for mailing it back to the Rome Campus at his/her own
expenses and will not be able to pick-up his/her diploma.
Note
It is imperative that caps and gowns be picked up and returned at
the designated times and locations.
