On the day of Commencement guests will be permitted to park on
campus. Due to the large number of guests we anticipate attending
the Commencement Exercises, there will be a shortage of parking on
campus. Please allow yourself ample time to find parking and to
walk to the ceremony.
We anticipate more than 15,000 guests at our Commencement
Ceremonies. Please follow the instructions below to make the day
enjoyable for all.
- Graduates and their guests should carpool to the campus. If all
graduates and guests do this there will be sufficient parking. This
means graduates and their guests should plan to arrive in 1
vehicle!
- Once the campus fills to capacity, guests should park on our
neighborhood streets. Please be sure to follow all NYC parking
regulations where applicable.
- A designated drop off area has been established for guests who
are unable to walk long distances. This area will be located just
outside Gate 1 on Utopia Parkway. Once guests are dropped off, the
driver will be directed to the best parking available, on or off
campus. Guests who are dropped off in this area should be prepared
to walk from Gate 1 (near the Law School) to the Great Lawn.
- Remember… All graduates must be in their line up locations by
9:30 a.m. to prepare for the procession. This means arriving on
campus earlier!
Planning to arrive early will facilitate your entry to the
Ceremony.
We suggest that all guests park in one of the following
locations:
- Garage A: Entrance Gate #6 at Goethals Avenue and 170th
Street
- Garage B: Entrance Eastbound on Union Turnpike (100 feet West
of 172nd Street)
- Garage C: Entrance on Union Turnpike and 171st Street
- All guests with special needs or who are physically challenged
should proceed directly to Gate #1 located on Utopia Parkway.
