Asst. Adjunct. Professor Legaspi creates imagery through mostly
representational means providing him with an immediate and intimate
conversation with the viewer. A major focus of his work centers on
the human figure, which is often depicted with confrontation and
conflict, or at moments of personal dilemmas. Much as a metaphor
for life, the final artwork has undergone multiple changes and
resolutions in its journey differing from its initial inception.
The solitary portraits attempt to delve into an emotional discovery
of the subject, especially derived from personal interaction
between model and artist. Mr. Legaspi has exhibited in shows and
galleries in Illinois, Kentucky, New Jersey, New York and at the
State Museum of Kazakhstan.
