Nien-tsu Hu's style evolved from traditional Chinese landscape paintings, and the diverse styles of painters from the Sung and Yuen Dynasties. Hu only used traditional Chinese brushes, ink and paper and added washes of color to emphasize the beauty of the landscapes presented in each of his paintings. His personal style lacks foreign influence and has earned his paintings international recognition.
Nien-tsu Hu has been requested to exhibit at each of the National and Provincial Fine Arts Exhibitions. His paintings were also selected for overseas touring exhibitions by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Information Bureau and National Museum of History.
