About the Exhibit
This exhibition
will highlight the rich diversity of contemporary American art.
Selections have always been based upon the strength of an artwork’s
visual statement, rather than its particular style or technique.
The artists have been selected from every possible geographic
location from throughout the country.
Since 1995, the St.
John's University National Art Exhibition has featured works of
art, created by artists from throughout the United States, and has
shown two dimensional work representative of a wide spectrum of
artistic styles and approaches. Exhibited selections have ranged
from the abstract to the representational and have included the
disciplines of painting, photography, print making, drawing,
digital and mixed media. From its very inception, the primary
objective of this annual exhibition has been to highlight the rich
diversity of contemporary American art. Selections have always been
based upon the strength of an artwork’s visual statement, rather
than its particular style or technique, and artists are selected
from every possible geographic location from throughout the
country.
