Abstract
According to the National Center for Disease Control, almost half of all Americans live with at least one chronic illness. Chronic Illnesses can strike at any time and individuals may be ill or well at any given time. They have health issues that affect “normal” life activities and usually require some form of ongoing medical care. This study will look at what Chronic Illnesses are; the increase in children and young adults surviving chronic illnesses; and show the special issues that confront this population.
