Migration of Women in Europe
Pelagia Papazahariou, Institute for Core Studies, Discover New York
Abstract: Despite the increase of women's migration in European countries over the past fifteen years, research has paid little attention to these women. This study examines the relationship between globalization and migration and the ways in which race and ethnicity shape migrant women's collective identities. By bringing together the literatures on gender and migration, this study examines how migration, globalization and gender shape the organization of their lives.
