In 2005 the Department of Education notified all
educational institutions that receive federal funding that they
must observe September 17 as "Constitution Day." Since that time
St. John's University has held special events related to educating
students about the Constitution. This year St. John's observes the
day on the evening of September 15 on the Staten Island campus, and
Monday, September 19, on the Queens campus.

York is planning to host a symposium entitled, "Constitutionalism
in Turkey and the United States: Comparative Perspective on
Building Democracy." A
