The Office of the Dean invites students, faculty and staff to a
workshop on Mindfulness Meditation.
Mindfulness is a type of meditation that involves focusing your
mind on the present and remaining "in the moment" during stressful
and emotional circumstances. Lawyers and law students who practice
mindfulness meditation find that it improves their mood, reduces
stress, increases their empathy and sharpens their skills.
Dr. Edward Hattauer, Director of the Center for Counseling and
Consultation at St. John's University, will lead participants in
Mindfulness Meditation exercises and a discussion on creating a
regular meditation workshop at the Law School.
