The exhibition now at the Dr. M. T. Geoffrey Yeh Art Gallery, intended to acquaint viewers with a portrait of contemporary Turkish society, was the outgrowth of a trip to Turkey sponsored by the Turkish Cultural Center undertaken by a group of St. John’s faculty and administrators in 2011. Gallery Director and co-curator of the exhibition, Parvez Moshin, will discuss the complexities of organizing an international exhibition of this scope, and Fine Arts Department Professor Paul Fabozzi will speak on the research methods and strategies he used in the creation of work specifically for this show.

Parvez Mohsin serves as the Director of St. John's University's  Dr. M. T. Geoffrey Yeh Art Gallery. He studied architecture at the Universidad Jose Maria Vargas and graphic design at the Instituto de Diseño Darias in Caracas, Venezuela. He also received a BFA, a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies and an M.A. in Global Development and Social Justice from St. John’s University.

Professor Paul Fabozzi has been a member of theSt. John’s University Fine Arts  faculty since 1994. He received his BFA from Alfred University and his MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. Additional studies include SUNY Buffalo in Siena, Italy and the University of Georgia at Athens in Cortona, Italy. Awards include the Georgia Foundation Grant for Foreign Travel and a fellowship in Drawing from the New York Foundation for the Arts.
