St. John’s Presents First Annual Autism Conference and Panel

The School of Education and Office of Alumni Relations are proud to sponsor the Carol Gresser Forum’s First Annual Autism Conference and Panel titled Autism: Building Bridges among Practice, Education and the Law.  Scheduled for Monday, March 21, 2011, this all-day event builds awareness of autism and provides insight on the treatment and instruction of children diagnosed with this disorder.

The topics covered during the conference workshop include:

  • Asperger’s and Bullying
  • Communication Strategies for Speech Pathologists and Teachers
  • A Comprehensive View of Behavior Intervention
  • Best Practices for Assessment of Autism Stress Disorder (ASD)
  • Promoting Socialization and Play Skills in Children with ASD
  • Developing a Successful Inclusion Program for a Student with Autism
