I am an English major who loves to write. I began using the Writing Center as a First-Year student, primarily because of a class requirement. Then, after testing the waters, I found myself coming to the center voluntarily because I enjoyed talking about my assignments and making sense of the topics and as well as constructing clear arguments. While taking a Shakespeare course with Dr. Lockey, I continued coming to the center not only to work on my papers, but to discuss different arguments which I can use within my papers. Later on, I participated in a Writing Center focus group to assist the center in research; this further peaked my interest in their services.
It was around this time when I started to ask myself, why haven't I applied to work at the Writing Center? I knew I wanted to talk with peers about texts and argumentation and ideas, and to this day, those conversations remain the most enjoyable part of my work.
