Emily Winters

I'm an English Major, Creative Writing Minor, Treasurer and Huge Fan of the Creative Expression Guild, and yes, I'm that girl who wears the cat ears.  (Mrow!)  Being a Writing Consultant has made my own writing so much stronger.  Helping others to work through their issues and develop techniques for clearer writing has forced me to identify and work on my own shortcomings as a writer, which is pretty sweet.

Obviously I'm way into writing, but you don't have to be an English major or minor to be a great writer, or a great consultant.  I tell everyone this is the best job on campus, and not just because of my favorite Writing Center Secretary, Connie!  I've had so many amazing moments when a student who came in confused and worried about an assignment suddenly had an epiphany about their work, and left the Center focused and confident.  Helping people recognize their own potential is a pretty awesome way to spend an afternoon!
