As a philosopher my topical interests center around metaphysics and
epistemology, but extend far from that center. Questions concerning
the nature of reality and self-knowledge inevitability lead to
questions about how we ought to live and what it means to live a
fully human life, and vice-versa. Hence I have serious side
interests in ethics, aesthetics, and philosophy of religion.
Outside of academia I enjoy traveling, visiting art museums,
playing music, and writing short stories and poems.
I have been working at the Writing Center for several semesters.
One thing that students should know is that it is not merely a
grammar workshop—it is more like a forum for students of all
disciplines to come and engage in fruitful dialogue. Though we are
concerned with sentence-level issues, we always keep in mind the
larger picture.
