WCOnline Conference
Reports
Within WCOnline’s web-based
scheduling and archiving platform, we’ve included a prompt
asking consultants to answer a few open-ended questions designed to
have us look back at each session with a student and to look
forward to future consulting sessions. The questions push
consultants to talk about two things after each session: how they
“went about working” with the student and how the consultant might
deal with a similar situation in the future. We hope that, in this
process, consultants’ understandings, perceptions, concerns, and
questions are made conscious and documented. As you will notice,
multiple channels have been built so that the documents circulate
to fellow consultants, professors, and directors.
Your sessions are an hour long so you have time to read a
client’s logs before s/he comes in and have time to write a careful
log after you end the session. A log must be written for every
single session you have…even if a client leaves after a few
minutes. If they don’t show up at all, mark it as a no-show.
Archiving E-tutoring
responses
When you’ve finished responding via e-tutoring, email your response to
Connie, to the client, and then upload the document to our
account on RefWorks. The
log-in is writingcenter and the password is write.
