My name is Angie A. Lalla and I joined the
St. John's University First Year Writing faculty in
2011. Prior to this, I was employed with the Office of
Institutional Research at St. John's and worked as Writing
Consultant with the Institute for Writing Studies for
four years. I graduated from St. John's with a B.S
in Advertising Communications and completed my M.A
in English the following year. My research
interests include postcolonial humor, humor studies and
performance, the relationship between language-symbolic power and
college writing, and the exploration of stand-up comedy as sites of
rhetorical resistance. I currently reside in Queens, New York with
my family.
