Mary Jo taught full-time at the University of the Virgin Islands
and Suffolk County Community College before returning to her native
Queens to work on her doctorate. Her research interests are
composition for an ethnically diverse student body, as well as
postcolonial and diasporic literatures. She is presenting
papers this year at the American Comparative Literature Association
conference at Harvard and the Caribbean Studies Association
conference at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica.
Recently, one of her essays was accepted for an upcoming anthology
on Caribbean literature.
